My current fitness motivations…

1. (stupid) TV studio jacket: It’s $50 I can’t get back, I wanna make it worth it!

2. NYC trip: This summer my family is going to NYC (my mom for the 3rd time, the 1st for the rest of us) and for one I don’t wanna be ridiculously exhausted trekking through the city, so I need to improve my cardiovascular fitness so I have some endurance, and even though I don’t anticipate buying a whole new wardrobe there, I’m going to want to shop at some places we don’t have in the Cities! AND I want to wear shorts, and I’m no where near comfortable enough with myself to baring everything to the world!

[And this isn’t to say I’m going to just stop working out after NYC, I mean I don’t wanna wear shorts (comfortably) for just one summer - I wanna wear them for ALL THE SUMMERS.]

Any specific goals for April? :)

Actually yes! I was going to make a post about it, but I can just answer it here and publish it :)

So, for the tv studio we got jackets, and the company sent over sample sizes so we’d know what to order. I ordered a large, and even though it tapered at the waist, it fit up top so ok right?

Well, I get my jacket…and it barely zips. I can’t move my arms, the sleeves are an inch short…the sample sizes were men’s, and the large jacket I now posses is a women’s large…

So since my hair weighs about 10 pounds, I haven’t been weighing myself, so instead I’m going to use the fit of that jacket as a determinate of my progress! I’ll take a picture in it today and at the end of April and I hope it at least zips more easily! :)

I forgot to tell you guys I went to Boot Camp yesterday!

I logged it on Fitocracy and just spaced! It was SO. HARD. She focused on legs with a Bosu ball and let me tell you, she did not play! But it was worth it, I feel really good!!

I’m going to try to get new tennis shoes over spring break, because I’ve had mine since freshman year and they’re kinda rough - I have Nike Shox now, but they’re not the best cross-training shoes, so suggestions for new sneakers please?

I worked out with my friend & her boyfriend and it was glorious!

He is SO cut, and he introduced me to some new things (am I the only one who didn’t know about inner & outer biceps??) ANYway, it was so good and I’m really noodle-y but that’s okay because I feel GOOD except I haven’t eaten since noon and it’s nearing 11pm so I’m hungry to the point that I can feel it in my throat TIME FOR SUSTENANCE!

I met with a dietitian today!

I had to interview her for my story on caffeine and studying, but she was SUPER friendly, so we started talking about anything & everything else, and she enlightened me about a few things….

  1. It’s okay if the only vegetable I like is carrots, because the point of vegetables and fruits is to get the correct vitamins - she said I can get most of my vitamins from fruits so I don’t need to feel bad that I don’t like lettuce or asparagus!
  2. If you exercise consistently and eat well enough, you’ll have enough natural energy and NOT NEED COFFEE, what??

Ok well yeah that’s it but it was a really insightful conversation!
